Below is a video walk-thru on what you need to complete your coursework as a coach.
Please watch the entire video and read the below staff/coach requirements before beginning the process – there have been a few slight changes from last year.
PlayMetrics Staff/coach Membership Requirements
All staff members required to work with teams—including technical directors, coaches, team managers, and other designated team or club staff—must complete all required risk-management items in PlayMetrics to be verified and approved by Arkansas Soccer Association.
U.S. Soccer Learning Center Account
*If you do not already have a U.S. Soccer Learning Center account, create one at:
Once there, click on the SIGN UP button at the top right of homepage and create a profile.
*If you already have a U.S. Soccer Learning Center account, LOGIN using your username and password:
The U.S. Soccer Learning Center is where you can complete or access your SafeSport OR Safe Soccer training and certificates.
*Note – Safe soccer (phase 1) is now acceptable in place of Safesport. Either are acceptable options.
To transfer completed requirements from the Learning Center into PlayMetrics, you will need either:
- The email address associated with your Learning Center account; or
- Your U.S. Soccer ID
To locate your U.S. Soccer ID:
- Log in to the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.
- Select the person icon in the upper-right corner.
- Select Profile.
- Locate your U.S. Soccer ID.
Make sure the name, date of birth, and email address in your Learning Center account match the information in your PlayMetrics profile and is correct for running a background check – use your actual name, rather than nicknames or shortened versions.
PlayMetrics Staff/Coach Membership Requirements
WHAT YOU’LL NEED: READ CAREFULLY SO YOU DON’T DO MORE THAN YOU ACTUALLY NEED.
Membership Photo
Upload a current membership photo in PlayMetrics.
Arkansas Coach Safely Course
Required annually. Complete the course through the Coach Safely Portal, then upload your certificate to PlayMetrics.
SafeSport (PHASE 1 ONLY) OR Safesoccer
Required annually. Complete Safe Soccer Phase 1 through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center or upload a current SafeSport certificate to PlayMetrics.
Accepted certificates include:
- SafeSport Certificate (latest refresher)
- Safe Soccer Phase 1
U.S. Soccer Safe & Healthy Playing Environments
Required annually through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center.
During the transition period, the CDC HEADS UP certificate will also be accepted. If you’ve never taken the Heads up course with CDC site, don’t – do the safe soccer phase 1 instead and use for both safesport and the health and safety sections.
Safe Soccer Phase 1 certificate will also satisfy this requirement.
Background Check
THE BACKGROUND CHECK must be submitted directly from your PLAYMETRICS coach profile – it is FREE.
DO NOT PAY FOR A BACKGROUND CHECK.
It is required every two years. Background checks completed last year should automatically carry over into PlayMetrics if they are still current.
NOTE: If any of your certificates are close to expiring, please renew them now. Once a certificate expires, you will become ineligible in PlayMetrics and receive repeated system notifications until the requirement is renewed and approved. Completing your certifications during the summer window will help ensure you remain cleared for the full seasonal year.
