Dear Texarkana Soccer Community,
Welcome to Spring Blast 2013 with the Texarkana Soccer Association. The volunteers at Texarkana Soccer Association are extremely excited about the upcoming Spring Season. For those of you that do not know me, my name is Dennis Wormington and I am the new president of Texarkana Soccer Association. I was fortunate to be the President of Texarkana Soccer Association between the years of 2006 and 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed the position and am looking forward to being in that position again. My prior administration was responsible for the constructing of both the Texarkana Soccer Association Café and the restrooms. The new management and I look forward to implementing many new changes that we believe will help transform and return the organization of Texarkana Soccer Association back to the premier soccer league in our State Organization.
Since my previous time with Texarkana Soccer Association, I have spent the majority of my free time refereeing NCAA soccer and local high school matches in the area. I recently retired from refereeing after a serious knee injury and jumped into the administration with the Arkansas State Soccer Association as the State Vice President. After hearing that Texarkana Soccer Association needed some “alumni support” I left my position with the Arkansas State Soccer Association to return as president of Texarkana Soccer Association. As an organization, Texarkana Soccer Association is focused on the future and we have worked hard to recruit many old and new faces in order to make sure this season is a success. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with you and your children and we are looking forward to blowing the lid off of Texarkana Soccer Association soccer once again.
We are excited to open the registration process for the spring season. Below you will find a link that will allow returning players to access the easy registration page in order to get signed up. The deadline for registration will be February 16. Please try to adhere to this deadline. We will accept late registrations but they make it harder to guarantee placement on her/his previous team. We hope to have teams formed and in place by the end of February or the beginning of March in order to give each team ample practice time before the first game which is scheduled for March 23rd. If you should have any questions or if the registration process doesn’t seem to work correctly, please contact Andy Tuttlebee at registrar@texarkanasoccer.com. Andy is the new registrar for Texarkana Soccer Association, and will be able to answer your questions at the above email address.
Please join us for Texarkana Soccer Association’s Spring Blast! Opening day and the first games will be held on March 23rd. Opening day will be quite an event with bounce houses, games, and give-a-ways sponsored by Texarkana Soccer Association’s partners. You won’t recognize all the changes to both the organization and Grady T. Wallace fields. Also, free popcorn will be given to every child that can tell the Texarkana Soccer Association café staff the shape of a soccer ball! (HINT – it’s round!)
